CCF are unbelieveably proud to announce to you all OUR FIRST FAMILY we are helping!! The parents of this beautiful and corageous little Girl “Paige”  Beth and Paul do everything for their 22 month old daughter.  Paige relies on her loving parents 24/7, they have both had to give up work to become her full time carers. 

Paige’s problems began shortly after with irritability and feeding problems, she has had many tests and investigations in her little life and some very worrying intensive care admissions, this family has very much been through a great deal of worry and heart ache that is still with them but they have just learned to live with it. 

It would break any parents heart to list these problems that their child suffers from; Cerebral Palsy with severe dystonia affecting her trunk and all four limbs, Bilateral sensorineural hearing loss with cochlear implants, Registered Blind, Severe Dysphagia and gastro-oesophagael reflux requiring funduplication and PEG feeding, Focal Epliepsy, Breath Holding requiring oxygen, Global developmental delay, Failure to thrive, Disrupted sleep/wake cycle and Infrequent episodes of bronchospasm.

Beth and Paul are truly amazing parents who like they say “Care for their beautiful daughter because they love her madly and would do anything for her”   They have recently had to relocate to Sunderland from their home town as they need to be closer to the hospital.  They have been in and out of hospital for most of Paige’s life, their current admission being the longest a whole 5 month! They are due to be discharged this week and what a fantastic “WELCOME HOME” present :- CCF WILL PAY THEIR FINANCIAL BURDENS FOR 3 MONTHS!

It is an absolute pleasure to help this brave and inspirational family, they really do need a break! When they were told CCF were going to help them Beth’s reply was “No one has ever helped us!” This statement alone proves how much CCF needs to be here…..with YOUR  (the very generous, big hearted and amazing members of the public) help and our fantastic team…all of the Trustee’s, all of the volunteers of Cookie’s Corner and all of the volunteers on the market, we WILL continue to provide support where there is none!

This is such a mometus occasion for CCF and our little Angel will be shining down on each and everyone of you who have helped us do this.  I don’t mind telling you all that I am crying typing this as it pains myself and Chris that we will never have those “Proud Parent” moments in the future, so we take our “Proud” moments from what his name is achieving……we will continue to aim as high as you are little legs.
