Need an extra nudge to enter that running race? How about bringing your canine best friend along to motivate you, and run alongside?
That’s right, it’s nearly time for the annual ‘Muddy Dog Challenge’ brought to you by Battersea Dogs and Cats Home. The centre says it’s the UK’s first obstacle course where animal lovers can compete in a run alongside their dogs.
With the choice between a 2.5km and 5km obstacle course, you don’t need to be a marathon runner to take part, and neither does your pup! You don’t have to be a dog owner to compete either, just a dog lover. You can enter as a team of humans, as a dog-human duo or head out on the course solo if your pooch doesn’t want to get his/her paws dirty.
Battersea Dogs and Cats Home is dedicated to caring for, and rehoming vulnerable dogs and cats in need of a second chance at life. Every year they care for over 7,000 dogs and cats and educate the public about responsible pet ownership.
As they don’t receive any government funding they need all the help they can get. When entering the Muddy Dog Challenge you’re asked to raise a minimum of £100 in sponsorship.
This year there will be four Muddy Dog Challenges happening in Nottingham, Windsor, Essex and Kent. For more information, check out the event page, and sign up now!
