The Peter Andre Fund and Wink Bingo have teamed up to raise money to help aid the improved early diagnosis of cancer and are campaigning for more fundraising support for the fund this year.
The Peter Andre Fund focuses on early cancer detection and was established with Cancer Research UK as a tribute to Peter's brother Andrew who sadly died from cancer in 2012. The fund raised a fabulous £100,000 last October through it’s 'Pete's Champions' campaign, which encouraged members of the public to fundraise in a range of imaginative ways and this year the fund wants to do even better and is asking for more champions to help the cause – with an added exciting incentive!
Meet Peter Andre!
Wink Bingo players will get the chance to win an exclusive invitation to a meet and greet Peter, along with several other special gifts. From zumbathons to marathons, make and bake sales or fancy dress parties - there are plenty of ways to fundraise for Cancer Research UK and be in with a chance to meet the man himself.
Wink Bingo has also pledged to donate a share of the takings from its 'Hearts of Gold' games to the Peter Andre fund, along with a range of other donations to this worthy cause.
Know your body, know what's right for you
The mantra of Peter's fund is 'know your body and know what’s right for you'. Simply put, early cancer diagnosis saves lives and the Cancer Awareness Roadshow is a great way for Cancer Research UK to reach out and share vital information about cancer.
Through Peter’s own personal experience he is raising awareness and adds that "Through supporting Cancer Research UK we can change the odds for people diagnosed with cancer in the future…we’ll be doing all we can to help people understand how important it is to know their body and to go straight to their doctor about anything unusual,"
There are four units around the UK – in London, North West England, North East England and Scotland. The Fund is raising money to supply the buses for the North West and London. The buses are used by Cancer Research UK to talk with hundreds of people every week. It gives the charity a valuable lifeline to engage with the public about the local health service, early detection, prevention and screening of cancer.
