Looking to take in the sites? Cancer Research UK Shine Night Walk events
Shine is Cancer Research UK’s marathon night walk which helps raise funds to find new ways to fight cancer. There are two events to choose from. The first is Shine Glasgow which is due to take place on Saturday 19 August and will consist of a 10k night walk. Shine London is scheduled for Saturday 23 September, Shine London where you can either opt for a full or half marathon night walk. You can take in the sites of these historical cities at a time when you might normally see it and all the while raise vital funds for Cancer Research UK.

Looking for more of a challenge? Action Medical Research for Children Trek the Night Endurance Hikes
Trek the Night is an alternative night walk that promises to push participants to their limits. Billed as an endurance challenge, the walk starts at midnight and comprises of a series of different terrains and obstacles that each participant or team have to negotiate to reach the finish line. Looking for something a bit more exotic? Bloodwise Trek The Great Wall of China
The Leukaemia & Lymphoma research charity, Bloodwise are holding a series of organised walks across the UK and worldwide. If you are looking for more of an adventure with a bit of travel thrown in, the Bloodwise challenge team are looking for participants to join them in China in October to trek The Great Wall of China and raise vital funds for blood cancer research and patient support.
Other highlights of the trip include the ascent of the ‘Heavenly Ladder’; helping to rebuild the wall by placing your very own brick; and exploring the sites of Beijing such as Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. Registration is open now. Visit the Bloodwise website for more information.
Looking for something a bit quirky? Marie Curie Kiltwalk 2017
Dig out your tartan and head for the glorious Scottish countryside in aid of Marie Curie. This is a charity walk with a difference as all participants are required to wear a kilt during the walk (regardless of the weather!). There are three distances to choose from; the Mighty Stride, Big Stroll or Wee Wander. Whichever distance you choose, afterwards you can enjoy some Scottish hospitality and celebrate your fantastic achievement at the finish line with a well-earned drink and hot meal at Kiltwalk Village.
