Birmingham Dogs Home has been serving the West Midlands community for over 130 years since our charity was founded in 1892.  We have always provided homeless dog with a refuge and a place to feel safe and we have evolved and developed how we do this across the generations.  From humble beginnings we are now proud to be the largest dog rescue charity in the region, operating from two rescue centres.  But we have so much more to do.

We care for over 2,000 homeless dogs every year, providing medical care, emotional support and training as well as food, shelter and love.  78% of the dogs we care for have been abandoned and come to us as strays through local authorities.

Our vision is for every dog to be cared for with kindness and empathy, so that they can lead a happy, fulfilled life, feeling safe and loved.  Here in the West Midlands our team continues to work with passion and dedication to provide the highest levels of compassionate protection and enriching care to as many local homeless dogs as we can to help them on their journeys towards the happy lives, they all deserve.

We do not receive any government funding and rely solely on the generosity and kindness of the community we serve.
