Five Rescue Dogs of the Week

Welcome to our weekly Friday rescue animal favourites! This week we have chosen dogs from five great animal shelter charities who are looking for new homes. Visit the websites of these charities if you are interested in adopting any of the animals in this post, and don't forget to read our top tips on adopting a pet from an animal shelter!

Charity Woodside Sanctuary dog.jpg

From Woodside Animal Welfare Trust: Jess is a 7 year old Collie. She is good with cats, dogs and children and travels well. Jess has been a farm dog so is looking for a rural home only. She has not been on a lead much so is wary and will pull. Jess is friendly with everyone she meets and really deserves a loving and gentle retirement home.

Charity Ashbourne Animal Welfare.jpg

From Ashbourne Animal Welfare: Nero is a very friendly and affectionate ex-racing greyhound with a relaxed personality.

Charity Jerry Green Dogs husky.jpg

From Jerry Green Dog Rescue: Diesel is a husky with a really bright, affectionate, friendly personality. He has unfortunately been passed around a few homes before finally settling here, so he is looking for a family with experience of the breed who will understand his temperament and make sure he is trained and exercised appropriately. He loves to play fetch with tennis balls and enjoys socialising with other dogs. He loves to play, but is equally happy to just potter around.

Charity Animal Rescue Cumbria dog.JPG

From Animal Rescue Cumbria: Sasha is a smashing dog, she is in our care after her owners had a change of circumstances. Sasha has shown herself to be very friendly and playful with other dogs, and behaved well off the lead playing in the field, however if something startles her she does run away. She is very obedient and knows basic commands. She will be a lovely loyal pet but has not lived with young children & we feel she will find them too scary.

Charity Three Counties Dog Rescue.jpg

From Three Counties Dog Rescue: Maude and Buster are spaniel cross bearded collies who are brother and sister. They both have a sweet temparement and are very loving and good with children. As they used to live together, they would be very grateful if they could go to a new home together.
