SEAFARERS UK

Seafarers UK is a grant-making charity that has been helping people in the maritime community for 100 years, by providing vital funding to support seafarers in need and their families. The charity aims to succeed by giving money to organisations and projects that make a real difference to people’s lives across the Merchant Navy, Fishing Fleets, Royal Navy and Royal Marines.

Last year they gave grants totalling £2.5 million to over 70 maritime welfare charities.

Seafarers UK doesn’t receive any governmental help and depends on public donations and legacies to maintain its grant-making programme.

Seafarers UK is here to ensure the effective distribution of funds to the charities that help people in the maritime community, so as to assist as many people as possible. Their supporter base is vital and ranges from long-term regular donors, corporate partners, volunteer fundraisers, Trusts and Foundations, one-off donations or the ones who leave them a gift in their Will.

Seafarers UK also campaigns to raise public awareness of the maritime industry, through the promotional activities such as Seafarers Awareness Week, and as a stakeholder in the Seavision initiative to make young people aware of the maritime world.
