For over 180 years the Society has helped the survivors of shipwreck, or the families of those lost at sea. Now one of the largest maritime benevolent Societies paying £1.4M annually in grants to retired or incapacitated merchant mariners, fishermen, and their families. Immediate grants to dependants of mariners lost at sea. Regular six-monthly grants to elderly seafarers and widows facing severe hardship. Special grants to meet particular needs.
