About Us

Established in 1984 Where Next is a local charity based in Redditch that provides support to people with moderate and severe learning disabilities to enable them to reach their potential.

Our services include delivery of real-life work experience and placements, training in vocational, life and independent skills, advice and guidance and access to social opportunities.

We deliver real-life working experience and training opportunities through our social enterprises; two garden centre/nurseries, one in Redditch, Worcestershire and one at Spernal Ash, Studley, Warwickshire.  Each garden centre offers opportunities in hands-on horticulture as well as retail opportunities in the shop area and hospitality in our pop-up Redditch cafe.  A small industries/factory unit delivers opportunities in bespoke carpentry and woodworking as well as small parts assembly. Our garden maintenance enterprise offers both commercial and private gardening services to our local community. 

Through our Where Next Hub we deliver advice and guidance to people with learning disabilities and their parents/carers.  People can also access a range of meaningful activities to support the reduction of social isolation, improve levels of physical and mental wellbeing and build self-confidence.  The activities include a range of sessions, including keep fit, dance, arts and crafts, drama and lots of trips out into the community.  We also offer popular social events including Pub Club and Skittles Night.

For people who have not had the opportunity to work Where Next provides purpose, self-esteem, a culture of independence and improves quality of life. Working gives a feeling of belonging and for those socially excluded by their disability the ability to contribute and integrate into society.
